Undergraduate Research Assistant Positions with Dr. Sara Ann Knutson

Interested in a paid summer position in History, Global Medieval and Early Modern Studies, and Pedagogy?

Dr. Sara Ann Knutson is hiring two undergraduate research assistants for the project, “‘Desert Imaginations’: Engaging Students as Partners (SaP) in North African History Course Design” for Summer 2026.

Anticipated start date: June 15
Approx. 10-15 hours/ week from June to early September (with the possibility of completing some hours in the Fall) for total of 120 hours

Brief project description:

This project will mobilize the Students as Partners (SaP) pedagogical approach to collaborate with two undergraduate research assistants and co-design, as intellectual partners, a new thematic course in the UBC History curriculum on North African History. The course will introduce and engage Indigenous Amazigh perspectives, epistemologies, and histories.

Must be a UBC undergraduate student to apply. Project team meetings will be held remotely online
